OK, so for what it's worth, I managed to get the 3.5 inch display working with my Raspberry Pi, by following the ReadMe.md file from. I'm new to the Raspberry Pi and RetroPie, so I'm not sure how to exactly trouble shoot the issue. The tutorial was written in 2018, so I'm sure some things have changed since then. It seems there are some parts of the Raspberry Pi OS that are not available in the RetroPie OS install, which prevents the 3.5 screen from configuring correctly in RetroPie. On the command line, I follow this tutorial: Kuman TFT 3.5 RetroPie 2018. After, I end the emulation which gets me to the command line window. So using the Rasbperry Pi SD card writer tool and selecting the RetroPie OS, I'm able to launch and configure RetroPie using the HDMI output. The issue I have is trying to use the screen with a RetroPie install. I was able to install and use the screen with the standard Rasberry Pi OS install using the following: sudo rm -rf LCD-showĪll works well, my Pi and the screen work great.
